ER collets are manufactured as per DIN 6499. The accuracies of collets are as per DIN 6499. ER collets are most widely used collets for tool holding in all the types of machine tools & are the most widely used system all over the globe.
These Collets are provided with the groove on the collets to engage itself in the collet chuck nut. It is the specialty of ER collets. In ER Collet Chucks, the collet is always fixed in the nut and then the nut is screwed on to the collet chuck.
ER collet nuts are always provided with an eccentric groove to fix the collet in to the nut. Special care is to be taken while fixing or removing the collet into/from the nut.
ER collets are available from very small size ER8 to ER 50. Special spanners are also required to clamp the nuts on to the collet chucks.
