Basic Objective
Our basic objective is the production of Mediterranean fish and the trade in fresh fish from open sea fishing.
The company was established in 1993 (under the name Blue Island Fish Farming Ltd) as an aquaculture unit. A turning point for the company has been its conversion in 1999 into a Public Company and its listing in the Cyprus Stock Exchange. This development contributed to the growth of the company both in the field of aquaculture and in the field of fresh fish trading.
The company is continuously developing and improving its effectiveness with a view to offer a reliable and complete service to its customers in Cyprus and abroad.
The Basic Fields of the Companys Activities
Fry breeding, through our subsidiary, Blue Fisheries in the Akrotiri area
Fish farming through our fish breeding farm at the Governors Beach
Retail selling through our own shops and shops in supermarket chains.
Wholesaling in Cyprus and abroad through our factory/fish packing unit in the Strovolos Industrial Estate.
The Basic Trading Sectors of Blue Island
Retail Sector:
Sales through our own network of fish markets and shops in supermarket chains throughout the island.
Wholesale Sector:
Supply of products to other fish markets and seafood shops throughout Cyprus.
Sales to Catering units sector:
Supply of fish to hotels and restaurants throughout the island.
Exports Sector:
Fish exports from our own breeding farm (mainly sea bass and sea bream) and other Mediterranean fish such as tuna, sword fish etc caught by Cypriot vessels, to European countries, the United States and the Middle East.
Sector for the Sale of Fry:
Through our subsidiary Blue Fisheries LTD to fish farms in Cyprus and abroad.

The company supplies from its own production and from fishing companies and other suppliers in Cyprus, the Mediterranean and other countries the following products:
1.Fresh Sea bass (Sparus aurata) and Sea bream (Dicentrarchus labrax) of mariculture.
2.Frozen whole Sea bass and Sea bream and fillets, under the trade mark Frio Mare.
3.Coastal and Open Sea fishing, such as Red Mullet, Sea Bream, Bogue, Whitebait, Grouper, Cod fish, Tuna, Swordfish etc.
4.Octopus, Squids and Cuttlefish.
5.Prawns, Lobsters, Crabs and Scampi
6.Mussels, Oysters, Clams, Cockles, Scallops etc.
7.Salmon, Trout, Perch etc
8.Sea bass fry, Sea bream fry.

We have several years of experience and we are exporting to Europe, USA, Russia and the Middle East offering the following products:
1.Fresh whole Sea Bream also offered gutted, filleted or even frozen.
2.Fresh whole Sea Bass also offered gutted, filleted or even frozen.
Our fresh seafood is marketed under the Blue Island brand name, while our frozen seafood under the Frio Mare brand.
